Each spindle is individually made in our Cincinnati, OH workshop from maple and beech sourced both domestically and internationally.

Wonderful for beginners

I use these spindles as part of the beginning spinners kits at my shop. They're a GREAT low cost option that allows the newbies to see if they like spinning while not investing a ton of money into the craft. People also buy these spindles from me for one-off projects, and they just love them. I sell a ton. I highly recommend these spindles.

Perfect spindle for beginners - great performance

I often end up teaching someone how to spin, so I like to have a bunch of these spindles on hand. They are well balanced and they spin for quite a while. The notch on the whorl and the long shaft are both very helpful for beginners. I also use one myself if I'm going to spin while walking. I wouldn't want to risk having an expensive spindle hit the pavement. Since I buy in bulk, a good spindle for $3.50 is a huge bargain. I sell them at cost to the beginners and $3.50 isn't a barrier to most people. (Sometimes I give them away).
