Includes 1 hard maple cross beams allowing users to make 1 yard skeins. This design has been satisfying customer needs for many years. A hardware assembly utilizing threaded inserts and a thumb screw hold the smooth 3/4" thick hard maple cross beam onto the sturdy yellow birch end pieces. Other similarly priced niddy noddys use friction between wood pieces to hold the item together, leading to tight or loose fits as the seasons change or the item is used. This niddy noddy does not have that problem. It is always secure and ready to go!

The niddy noddy is a great tool for making skeins of yarn. Wound skeins slide easily from the smooth sloped end pieces.

Drop Spindle

Our Fiber Artist Supply top whorl drop spindle is very popular among spinning instructors in search of an inexpensive beginner spindle. The conical shape of the whorl puts most of the weight along the perimeter, helping the spindle spin longer and stay more stable. A notch in the whorl helps keep your spun yarn in place. Both the whorl and the shaft are custom crafted from lacquered beech and hard maple. The spindle is 10" long, rounded on both tips, has a 2.5" whorl, and weighs 1.8 ounces.
